So it has been a long time since I have really written a review for a movie or a tv series in a while. And I am a shamed to admit this but I was plagued by three very selfish reasons for not doing so:

1) I felt no one was reading or responding to the reviews so it felt like so much empty work for me;

2) I was torn between the aspects of ruining the movie going experience for some people by telling too much or not enough of what the movie was about, or telling too much about the ones I didn't like thus ruining the movie for those that might really be in for that type of film; not the least of all,

3) I just got plain and simply lazy and tired.

So in the interest of clarity and brevity I am going to address each issue seperately and then follow up on the way I am going to proceed from here on out. (Deep breath...) Okay issue one no response to the posts. Well Dugh says that people are reading; just not posting. For me that was a suprise I found a little hard to swallow, since 'no proof, no truth' has always been my mantra. That is until my Ma quoted back to me a bit from my 'pity party' post, which until then I was sure no one had read at all. Which proves being wrong is a constant human condition and should be taken with a grain of salt. Well that got me to believing that I should continue to post reviews and articles as they come to me without pressure or guilt. And be patient and happy just to get the actual responses that I do get when a post is strong enough to inspire one to do so. But the truth too is that I need the pat on the back every now and again just to keep going on even if its just from family and friends, LOL.

On to issue two. Now the answer to this one is going to be both a little more radical and selfish at the same time. I am not going to be writing reviews any longer.... I know the hue and cry goes out far and wide screaming say it aint so. But given the fact that I like people to make up their own minds about a picture and then talk about their own unique view of it I am going to only right a simple paragraph opener saying if I liked it or not and was it worth seeing on the wide screen or not. Really simple.

Like the new posting style you will see a little clicking button saying "extended post" and when you engage it the rest of the post will unfold for those that want to know more of the film and what I thought. This will be an analysis of what I thought of the story period. This will be the full on thought so if you worried about hearing the ending or learning a precious part of the surprise to the movie then be so because that is what is going to happen once you go into this part of the article. I am going to have fun deconstructing the movie, the story, the cinematograpy, and my life as it relates to these films; or what ever the hell I want to talk about. That way I will want to write and if you agree great or disagree even greater then leave a comment and we can chat. But even if you don't comment I will have at the very least satisfied my need to get it out there in my own way. So be warned it will be a spoiler for sure. meta-creation_date: 6/21/2005 07:40:00

Now the last and not the least issue three being lazy. The truth is I am no where near lazy. I work a fifty plus hour a week job and I am up and out of the house by 5:30/ 6:00 every day of work. Then I come home and try to get some sleep usually four to five hours a day. When I wake I work on the Manga site, write for the books, design and draw for the mangas. Then I try and hang out with friends when I can, or give a helping hand when ever it is asked for. So I am not lazy by a long shot. What I am is not that good at prioritizing by importance to me. I act on a whim and am swept away by life so much so that it is kind of easy to let things fall by the way side. Such as Defiant. But the cure is simple Dugh and I are changing our movie night into a writers night and I will make it a priority to post an article by the end of the night regardless as a rule.

(That is why the pity party showed up... Lets hope I am a little better prepared next time. LOL)

So thats it. Three problems that brought Defiant to a halt and now three solutions that should kick some coal back into my rusty old furnance to get this old loco' going again. Hang on the loco loco' is starting up again and we will see how far she goes. TDO
