So it has been a long time since I have really written a review for a movie or a tv series in a while. And I am a shamed to admit this but I was plagued by three very selfish reasons for not doing so: (See archive ...)

Thanks to the constant vigilance of my readers, they have asked me for a more printer friendly version of the site.

This was my greatest hope that people would come by Defiant and seeing something they liked would wish to print it out, sharing it with there friends and family thereby increasing I hope our little forum here. There is strength in numbers, as well as strength in independence. So no matter how you find your strength, come on by and share it with other Defiant Ones.

So we called on Dugh, who fixed it up in a jiffy. Dugh added a link at the end of the comment string so that anyone who wants to see just the article can click on "print version", and be able to read a larger version of the article with the comments, (Which for me is easier on the eye.) as well as having a printable page without all of the Defiant frills getting in the way.

Thanks again Dugh, our Defiant webmaster, and too Blossom the engine he uses to generate the site. Both of who make posting user friendly and easier for people like me. Allowing future Definat Ones a dynamic interactive voice on the web.

Defiant is a site dedicated to those of us that exist outside the system and the common cliques by choice or by circumstance often beyond our control. But once outside of these circles we commit to remain irrevocably ourselves in spite of our losses or gains, in effect remaining defiantly individual, unique.

We are the people that have the ability to bound effortlessly in and out of groups known and unknown, taking a sampling of what it's like to belong, we are the accepted anomaly. Thus we can make the observation no one else can make.

Why the name, this name- Defiant... well out side of the obvious geek reference, it is a rallying cry of the individual who's backed up against the wall and is being forced to comply with the supposed norm. Yet and still you stay defiant.

Here at Defiant we will strive to speak in plain english, but since I believe english is a living language, just ride along with some of the awkward phrasing and in a few cases the pretty bizarre word choices. With my southern phrasing and Aquarian sensibilities I promise you it's going to be a hoot.

Each of Defiant sections has a general theme:

Talk Out Loud... is where we will voice our collective views on what is going on inside, around and all about us. Politics, religion, faith, human nature, etc- all are discussed here with a tip of the hat to just some plain old common sense.

Hey Y'all... is simply your one hop stop for all types of entertainment reviews. If we see it, hear it and in some cases just get word of it, we will review it. Make sure you come on by and chuck your two cents into our barrel too. Hey your two pennies are worth more here than it will ever be in the real world.

Tall Tales... is our collective creative consciousness, where we will display various short stories- some true, others tall tales indeed. We will also be conducting something like a writers' workshop and resource area.

And finally there is-

Casting the Net... here we will list the various members of our internet community. These are the core people responsible in action or spirit with the creation of Defiant. I will also be putting links to other great sites we think are often over looked.

If your feeling a little defiant you now have a home to vent off some steam, so come on by and see what's happening... Defiant is not for the weak but come by often enough and you will feel your own strength grow.
